As is known, the Republican Sports Contest “Saglamlig (Health) 2016” of communication workers kicked off in the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 24. The Sports Contest is dedicated to the professional holiday of workers in the communications and high technologies sphere and the 135th anniversary of the establishment of telephone communication in the country.

Competitions are currently held within the Sports Contest. Note that 14 teams and over 500 athletes representing subordinate bodies of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies will compete in competitions.

Athletics competitions were first held as part of the Sports Contest.

Teams representing Data Processing Centre (DPC), Militarized Security Department, State Administration of Radio Frequencies, Azerpost, Aztelecom, Baku Telephone Communications Production Association and Teleradio Production Association of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies took part in athletics organized in the stadium of the National Olympic Center.

The representatives of Data Processing Centre showed best results in fierce competition and took the first place in the team score.  

It will be recalled that competitions to be held in 9 kinds of sports (athletics, volleyball, table tennis, tug-of-war, futsal, chess, backgammon, checkers, rifle and pistol shooting) will run until October 25.
