The Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies announces contest “View, Use, Develop!” for the development of mobile applications using Open Government Data.
Goal of the contest:
Development of new mobile applications using data available on the Open Government Data Portal (data.gov.az) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, convenient use of open government data, providing support for socially-oriented and innovative ideas and promotion of startup projects.
Terms of the contest:
- You can participate in the contest individually or in a team. (The number of team members must not exceed 5 people).
- You must use at least one piece of data available on the Open Government Data Portal (data.gov.az) for developing an application.
- The materials presented should not infringe intellectual property rights of individuals and legal entities.

If contestants get equal final scores, the preference will be given to the contestant who gets more points for a higher criterion. (The criteria are ranked in the table according to their superiority).
Prize fund of the contest:
-1st place - AZN2000
-2nd place - AZN1500
-3rd place - AZN1000
- Student participants will get Microsoft’s desktop applications, server and cloud-based solutions within Microsoft BizSpark program.
-Authors of two projects that are of interest to the High Technologies Park will be provided cost-free use of the office in the incubation center for 6 months;
- Each contestant who presents his mobile application in line with the requirements will be given an electronic signature certificate.
ATTENTION!
Those wishing to participate in the contest must register in the relevant section of the menu “Contests” of the portal Open Government Data Portal (data.gov.az) as from 13.11.2017 and send the materials they prepared for the contest (including master code of application, working application and presentation file of the application) to the organizing committee through the portal before 25.11.2017, 23:59 hrs.
The contestants must present their mobile applications before the jury on 26.11.2017.
Announcing the results of the contest and awarding ceremony will take place within the framework of the exhibition Bakutel-2017.
