Winners of contest “Electronic Government for Youth” awarded

Increased attention is being paid to the issue of raising awareness of young people on information technologies and increasing opportunities for their use as part of the “State Program for Implementation of National Strategy for Development of Information Society in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2016-2020” and the State Program “Azerbaijan Youth in 2017-2021”. Promoting the use of e-government solutions among young people is considered to be one of main directions of work carried out in this area.

The conference “Electronic Government for Youth” was held on December 26 with the aim of completing projects for young people in 2017 in the field of ICT and e-government, announcing the winners of the contest “Electronic Government for Youth” and holding discussions with youth organizations.

The conference was organized jointly by Data Processing Centre, E-Government Training and Education  Center and  National Assembly of Youth Organizations with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Ministry of Youth and Sports and  Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the conference, presentations were made on education projects supported by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and ICT projects funded by Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Within the conference, the winners of the contest “Electronic Government for Youth” were awarded. Thus, Young Entrepreneurs Network Public Union became the winner in the nomination “The best organization in promoting the Electronic Government” and Regional Human Rights and Media Center Public Union took the first place in the nomination “The best organization in promoting the use of electronic government solutions among young people in regions”. The author of the interactive teaching aid on promotion of Electronic Government Ofeliya Mazanova became the winner in the nomination “The best physical person in promoting the Electronic Government” and the author of the proposal project on “Integration of the business environment into the Electronic Government Portal” Orkhan Kerimov took the first place in the nomination “The best proposal for digitizing government services and developing the Electronic Government Portal (www.e-gov.az)”.  

Note that the contest ended on December 20.
 

At the end of the conference, discussions were held on e-government-related topics with the representatives of youth organizations and recommendations were prepared for increasing the organizations’ contribution to the development of the information society.
