Series of workshops on E-government held in regions

Regular workshop on E-government portal was held in Aghdam region on April 7. Information was provided on E-government portal, electronic signature, in general, the advantages of e-services, their benefits to the society, including the management at the workshop, which took place in State Socio-Economic College situated in Guzanly settlement of Aghdam region.

Speaking at the workshop, expert of Regional Human Rights and Media Center Public Union Khalid Kazimov spoke about the program “Promotion of Human Rights, Democracy and Good Governance in Azerbaijan” implemented by the Eurasia Partnership Foundation using the funds of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was noted that under the project, workshop of the same nature will be held  in six regions. Thus, the project, which started in the city of Mingachevir, took place In  Barda as well, and regular  workshops will be held in Goygol, Yevlakh and Agdash regions.

Mr.Kazımov also said, services are provided to citizens on the use of electronic services in Aghdam city, the office of Region Gender Public Union, as well as Barda city, the regional office of the Human Rights Center Public Union under the project. Citizens can contact the centers that are provided with Internet access and computer equipment during working hours when they have questions regarding any electronic service.

Then specialists of Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Gunay Huseynova and Elvin Jafarli informed about official documents related to the application of ICT to service areas, legislative framework of E-government portal, the creation of the portal and its development stages.

At the same time, E-government portal was shown to the participants in practice. The participants were shown how to log in to the portal, service groups, most frequently used electronic services, as well as visual aids facilitating citizens’ access to the portal have been tested in practice.

The workshop concluded with a question-answer session and discussions. In the end, active participants were given username and password to access to the E- government portal.
