International conference on public key infrastructure and electronic signature issues “PKI-Forum Russia 2017”, which was organized by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, has come to an end. The main topics of the conference were Public Key Infrastructure and trust to PKI and PKI-based solutions, issues on applying the promising technologies to PKI,  standardization  in PKI and digital signature, activity of Certification Services Centers, unlimited use of electronic signatures in operating systems, PKI in blockchain technologies etc.

The conference was attended by more than 300 representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Uzbekistan and other countries. Azerbaijan at the event was represented by the representatives of Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. Speaking at the event, head of the National Certification Services Center Arif Mailov informed the participants about the activity of the National Certification Services Center, which is the Root Certification Center in our country.

It was noted that the functions of the Center include issuing National Certificates for centers that are included in the National System and all subordinate centers. Root Center’s duties include  formation of self-certified certificate, registration of second-level centers (first of all, Authorities’ Center, Electronic Government Center and Mobile-ID Center) and formation of these centers’ certificates  based on information about electronic signature verifying, compiling and publishing the list of revoked certificates of only second-level centers.
