As we mentioned earlier, the new version of the Open Government Data Portal-www.data.gov.az, developed by Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, was launched.
An event was held in this regard on November 21. The event discussed a number of issues such as the benefits of open government data provided by government agencies to the public, enhancing transparency in administration, its impact on the economy, challenges ahead in this area, as well as its role in the development of startup movement.
In the second half of the event, an awareness session was held on the contest “View”, “Use”, “Develop” announced by Data Processing Center. Some 100 students receiving technical education in different universities took part in the session. The event participants were informed about the services provided on the portal and rules for use of these services.
Department Head of Data Processing Center Jamshid Nakhchivanski informed about the rules of participation in the contest. Representative of Microsoft Azerbaijan Gachay Mirzayev gave recommendations to those wishing to participate in the contest and spoke of the international experience in this area.
Afterwards, the questions from the contestants were answered.
Note that those wishing to participate in the contest must send the materials they prepared for the contest (including master code of application, working application and presentation file of the application) to the organizing committee through the portal before 25.11.2017, 23:59 hrs.
Announcing the results of the contest and awarding ceremony will take place within the framework of the exhibition Bakutel-2017.
